Early Photographers


The earliest photograph was made by a french inventor called Joseph Nicephore Niepce but later accidentally destroyed. Here in this article we refer to some early famous photographers and a short biography of them :



Robert Capa

Robert Capa (born as Ernest Andrei Friedmann) is one of the early famous photographers from budapest (capital city of Hungary). His photography was mostly related to different wars such as: The Spanish civil war, The Japanese invasion of China, The world war across Europe, The 1948 Arab-Israeli war and Indochina war. Robert Capa photographed these wars because he was always there exactly at the moment that the specific war was happening.


Walker Evans

Walker Evens was born in November 3, 1903 in St.Louis, Missouri. During his works, he focused on Great Depression and Landscapes and architecture around him. A bit after working on the Great Depression , he started covering new issues such as abstract modernist using the Black/white and colour photography.


Felice Beato

Felice Beato born in 1825 or 1834 since it was not clear when he was born. Felice Beato was a British/Italian photographer. He also covered his works in the field of war photography and was one of the first who took pictures in East Asia. His different powerful works from different countries were due to opportunities he had during his traveling .


Dorothea Lange

Dorothea Lange was born in 1895 in New Jersey. As early as the Great Depression approached her attention, she started taking pictures of people she was facing in this field. She is also best known her works related to "Depression-era". She died on october 11.1965.
